Special Teams Strategy: Early Collaboration for Solutions
Date: October 2, 2025
Time: 1:00 PM - 2:30 PM Eastern.
Session Description:
What happens when a hospital’s critical systems fail, and a construction project risks
disrupting daily operations? In this presentation, discover how the Novato Community
Hospital project turned a potential fumble into a game-winning drive through
innovation and collaboration. Faced with the loss of access to essential spaces, the
construction team and facilities staff huddled together, quickly devising a solution to
not only meet the immediate construction needs but also deliver long-term value for
the hospital. Much like a quarterback calling the perfect play, the team used early
site planning and creative problem-solving to expand the construction yard just
enough, creating a joint-use storage area that would serve both the project and the
hospital’s ongoing needs. This presentation showcases the importance of proactive
collaboration, integrating facility needs into the design process, and making decisions
that set the team up for success in the long run. Attendees will leave with a fresh
playbook for how construction teams can drive efficient, sustainable, and mutually
beneficial outcomes by bringing the facility staff into the planning process from the
very beginning (understanding customer value)—creating a winning team that works
together toward a common goal.
